4 on the FOURTH

Ok...it's almost 2:00 in the morning, and I can't remember how to link to the picture.  So, please click here to link back to Ms.M's blog.
Yeah...another Linky party!  I love this one because I am going to be trying lots of new things this year.  The problem is, I'm not exactly sure what they will be - LOL. My position is changing and for the first time I will not have my own class.  Instead, I will be an ESE co-teacher and also do RTI pull-out.  So, here are the 4 new things I am pretty sure I am going to be trying...but you never know.  After all, "Teacher, thy name is Flexibility!"

1. NG-CAR inspired content-area reading:  I am very excited about using this with my small groups and sharing it with the teachers I am going to be working with.  I am currently working on a unit called Nursery Rhymes and Non-Fiction.  Students will not just be reading a text, but also talking about it, writing about it, and even learning how to mark it as they read.

2. Data Folders:  I have used these before, but I am working on tweaking them so that they become tools for my students to use interactively to track progress and set goals.

3. Mini-Offices:  I have thought about creating and using these for quite a while.  At the end of the year, I learned that one of my little ones is going to need some type of study carrel or privacy shield to use in the gen ed classroom.  So now, I have the motivation to get one done.  I can see how I want it to look in my mind.  Now, I just have to focus and get it done.

4. Vocabulary Journals: One of the teachers at my school has a great way of organizing the vocab journals she uses with her intermediate Co-Taught classes.  I am working on a way to modify for primary.  I'm not quite sure what they will look like yet, but I really think they will be helpful.

Happy Blogging!
Amy
